Adaptive park for freeport area of bataan
Mariveles, Bataan, PH
This project presents a holistic approach to landscape architecture by transforming a functional detention pond into a vibrant community destination. The design integrates ecological infrastructure with public amenities, creating a space that is both sustainable and engaging. A series of terraced, amphitheater-style seating areas curve gracefully around the pond, offering natural gathering spaces that blend into the landscape.
Sculptural flamingo installations within the pond add a playful yet artistic focal point, while seasonal plantings enhance biodiversity and visual interest. Curved walking and cycling paths weave through the park, promoting wellness and connectivity without disrupting the natural flow of the site. Additional features, including shaded pavilions, floral displays, and a central performance dome, support a wide range of recreational and cultural activities.
This project exemplifies how thoughtful design can elevate utilitarian infrastructure into a community asset—balancing environmental performance with aesthetics and public use.
